In cooperation with the KulturGutRetter initiative, D.O.G sent a large amount of high-performance products from the AKA programme, a business unit of D.O.G Deutsche Oelfabrik GmbH from Hamburg, to Ukraine in January 2023 for the dry cleaning and restoration of cultural heritage.
Ukraine is rich in cultural heritage, including unique historical buildings, monuments and art objects. Due to the current situation, many of these cultural heritages have already been destroyed or need to be protected. To support their restoration and preservation, D.O.G sent several AKA products for dry cleaning and restoration at the end of January.
Three pallets products were sent to Berlin. From there, the initiative KulturGutRetter organised the further transport. The initiative, which includes the German Archaeological Institute (DAI), the Leibniz Centre for Archaeology (LEIZA) and the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), has a good logistics network to bring aid materials for cultural preservation quickly and directly to Ukraine. The AKA products are distributed there to museums, archives and other cultural institutions and sites in the country.
We are pleased to haves made a contribution to the preservation of Europe's important cultural heritage with our donation.
