“In the world of politics, standardization committees and the market, our voice will be heard much better in the future if it speaks from one mouth instead of two,” explains Andreas Markiefka, Business Unit Manager at D.O.LUBE. In particular, he emphasizes the expected synergies and the now strengthened opportunities for action - especially as the topics in the lubricants sector were already congruent in many cases in the past.
At their respective general meetings, the member companies of UNITI Bundesverband EnergieMittelstand e.V. and Verband Schmierstoff-Industrie e.V. (VSI) voted unanimously in favor of merging the two associations. In future, around 95 percent of the lubricants market in Germany and a large part of the European market will be represented by the new association. The formal merger is planned for the 4th quarter of 2024.
