Activators for Fillers

Silanes enable inorganic fillers to be chemically coupled with elastomers. Without the use of silanes, only fairly week physical bonds can be formed, e.g. Van-der-Waals-forces, adhesion or absorption. Predominantly silica, clay, quartz, ATH and – to a lesser extent – also talc, mica, and inorganic oxides such as TiO2 are commonly used as light filler in silanization processes. In addition to the standard sulphur- / and vinylsilanes, DOG also offers a range of silane specialties for various applications.
