EP-Additive

EP additives (Extreme Pressure), due to their chemical structure, prevent direct contact between tool and workpiece and so prevent damage to the workpiece through reaction with the metal surface. At the same time, EP additives reduce friction at the contact points and thus enable a higher load-bearing capacity.

In metalworking, the light and semi-dark, low-odor DeoAdd additives are preferred in order to minimize stress on machine personnel. These DOG EP additives are produced using hydrogen sulfide and elemental sulfur. Compared to the commonly known dark sulfur carriers, the light colored DeoAdd products exhibit increased oxidation stability as well as improved solubility in high paraffin base oils.
