EP Extreme-Pressure-Additives

Due to their chemical structure and bonding with the metal surface, EP-Additives prevent the direct contact between the tool and the workpiece. Therefore damage due to friction welding is avoided. At the same time, EP-Additives reduce the friction between the interacting contact points enabling the use of higher pressure.

DeoAdd additives with increased oxidation stability

In the metal working industry, the light coloured and low odour DeoAdd additives are preferred as they minimize the (odour) nuisance for the machine operators. The light coloured, low odoured DOG additives are produced through the use of hydrogen sulphide and elementary sulphur.

In comparison to the conventional, well known, dark sulphur carriers, the light couloured DeoAdd additives show an increased oxidation stability and an improved solubility in high paraffinic base oils. An important criteria for the selection of a suitable EP-Additive is the active sulpur content. Products with a low active sulphur content provide excellent high pressure and anti wear properties.

The benefit of high content of active sulphur

The benefit of using products with a high content of active sulphur can be seen in applications where extreme pressure is present. The DeoAdd additives can be used in various industrial lubricants, greases and metal cutting oils. To achieve an even higher performance, a combination with Deophos products and Ester TO-20 is recommended.
